Nola’s First Christmas: Part I
Posted by Will on December 31, 2011

Bending the normal Christmas breakfast fare.

A daily fixture becomes a stocking favorite.

Bowed over.

Nola's "stocking".

A new onesie from Daddy.

Nola getting as assist from Mommy.

Mama Marge is also helping Nola get a head start in her rabid fandom for the Dawgs.

Nola's Christmas morning game face.

We're still not sure how this one is going to make the airplane ride back to DC.

Caught in mid-munch.

Standard holiday hijinks.

It wouldn't be a Bram Christmas without a French coconut pie.

A chance for the photographer to shine.

Mama Marge pulled out all of the stops to make Nola smile.

Take 1.

Take 34.

Where We Present a Present
Posted by Will on December 31, 2011
Nola received her first birthday gift a wee bit early from her baby sitters (whom we affectionately referred to as her nanny and manny … although we consider them neither), Jill and Jim.
Jill had been watching Nola from her first few weeks on Earth while Jim has been her primary sitter this past semester. It needs to be noted, Nola adores both of them (duh).
We thought it might be good practice for Nola to get some paper tearing and bow pulling under her belt before the Christmas Main Event. Besides, it wouldn’t be very prudent to try to stuff a moderately heavy wooden toy in our baggage.

Four Legs in the Morning, Two Legs at Noon (or Ikea)
Posted by Will on December 14, 2011
This past week, Nola has gone from taken her first tentative step up to teetering a few yards.
She has been free standing for a few weeks but she is now capable of standing on her own instead of needing a helping parental hand.
It really has been just a matter of days that our Peanut was taking a step and falling forward to confidently tottering and lurching into our arms. You can tell Nola is gaining self-assurance with each practice run (erm … walk).
Below is a quick video of one of her smaller walks. You’ll just have to trust me when I saw she is pushing farther.
