Country Comes to Town
Posted by Will on March 20, 2011
My parents came into town this weekend. Don’t let the title mislead you. They’re not exactly “country folk” but they do live outside city limits, hence the clever title.
Nola took some big steps this week. They primarily consisted of her being without us for extended periods (including overnight this Saturday). There is a certain separation anxiety that comes with those periods. Personally, it’s a little hard to not think of her constantly. It is odd because I don’t feel that way at work. I know she was in great hands but I think we don’t give Nola her due sometimes.
I also gave her a bottle before she went to bed which is abnormal.
I actually ended up feeding her before her normal time period thinking I could give her a nightcap later on. When the hour struck, I gave her another 4 ounces of milk but she would have none of it. Actually, I don’t think she was hungry. Imagine someone trying to force-feed you with a rubber nipple. Yikes. So, I calmed her and she went off to her little dreamland without further delay. Lesson learned.

Grin and bare it.

My thumb's not quite large enough so I'm going to go with the whole hand.

Surf's up!

Nola's hair is beginning to turn a lighter shade of brown.

Talk to the hand.

Hold that thought ...

A burp cloth? I see you learned your lesson well, Grasshopper.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about that hair growing underneath your nose.
